Every now and then, something comes along that makes you grin before you even get there.  That’s exactly the vibe of When Pigs Fly—our indoor BBQ festival that smells like heaven,  sounds like laughter, and feels like gathering with a few hundred of your closest hungry friends.

The name might be whimsical, but don’t let it fool you. This festival is serious about barbecue.  We’re talking slow-smoked, sauce-dripping, competition-worthy creations from pitmasters who  treat their smokers the way others treat classic cars—polished, pampered, and proudly shown off.

A Feast for the Senses

Walk through the doors and it hits you instantly—smoke, spice, sweetness, and that  unmistakable “someone’s doing ribs right” aroma. You’ll see teams tending giant smokers,  comparing secret rubs (that they’ll swear they might share someday… but they won’t), and  plating entries like proud parents sending their kids off to college.

You’ll hear friendly trash talk, laughter, timers beeping, and the quiet, reverent silence that only  happens when someone takes their first bite of really, really good BBQ.

More Than Just Amazing Food

Sure, the barbecue is the headliner, but it’s not the only star of the show. When Pigs Fly is part  cook-off, part festival, part social hour you didn’t know you needed.

You’ll find:

  • Teams competing for bragging rights and trophies
  • Vendors with sauces, rubs, gadgets, and “I definitely need that” BBQ gear Families hanging out, trying samples, and arguing (lovingly) about which booth was best The perfect mix of smoky, savory, and sweet treats to keep everyone happy

It’s one of those events where kids have fun, adults have fun, and nobody leaves hungry.  Honestly, the only ones not thrilled are the elastic waistbands.

Why We Love It

Events like When Pigs Fly are what community is all about. They bring people together around  tradition, craft, and the universal truth that barbecue tastes better when someone spent hours  tending it with love and maybe just a hint of competition.

Plus, it happens indoors, so Mother Nature can do whatever she wants—rain, cold, or sunshine— we’re still eating BBQ. That’s a win.

Mark Your Calendar (and Bring Your Appetite)

If you’ve never experienced When Pigs Fly, consider this your personal nudge. If you have been  before, you probably don’t need convincing—you’re likely already smelling phantom ribs just  reading this.

Come ready to taste, wander, cheer on your favorite teams, and discover what happens when  passion, smoke, and a whole lot of pork come together.

Because yes… sometimes pigs really do fly.

And when they do, they bring the barbecue with them.
